Nano zirconia has the characteristics of strong thermal shock resistance, high temperature resistance, good chemical stability, and outstanding material compositeness. Composite nano zirconia with other materials (Al₂O3, SiO₂) can greatly improve the performance parameters of the material, improve its fracture toughness, bending strength, etc. Therefore, nano zirconia is not only used in the field of structural ceramics and functional ceramics, but also used to improve the surface properties of metal materials (thermal conductivity, thermal shock resistance, high temperature oxidation resistance, etc.). The conductive properties of nano zirconia doped with different elements are used for electrode manufacturing in high-performance solid batteries.
Ceramics sintered from nano zirconia powder have become one of the main structural ceramics due to its good phase change toughening performance; in the study of nanocomposite materials, nano zirconia has been used as a dispersed phase to enhance the toughening of the matrix, and significant results have been achieved; stable nano zirconia has been widely used in solid oxide fuel cells as an ideal electrolyte.

1. Nano-zirconia can be used in high-strength, high-toughness wear-resistant products: mill linings, cutting tools, wire drawing dies, hot extrusion dies, nozzles, valves, balls, pump parts, various sliding parts, etc.
2. Functional ceramics (ceramic buttons, ceramic chopsticks), structural ceramics: electronic ceramics, bioceramics
3. Piezoelectric elements. Oxygen sensitive resistors. Large-capacity capacitors;
4. Artificial gems, grinding materials. Functional coating materials: added to the coating has anti-corrosion and antibacterial effects, and improves wear resistance and fire resistance.
5. Nano-zirconia can also be used as refractory materials: electronic ceramic sintering support pads, refractory materials for melting glass and metallurgical metals;
Its application in the field of high technology is expanding.
6. Nano-ZrO₂ particles modified with silane can significantly improve the flexural strength of nano-ZrO₂/PMMA composites when the addition amount is 3.0%.
